State College, Cellblock,
PSU's #1 Club. A year and a half of Pure Kaos. Thanks for the
memories and making me State College's Best DJ, 2007.
Bradenton, Florida's DJ
of the year in 2001 brought his skills and talent back to Pittsburgh,
becoming the resident DJ at Club Chemistry from the time it opened. His
unique style combined with experience and musical knowledge kept the
crowds coming back for more. "We were so lucky to find him,"
Chemistry's owners raved, "he's brought so much to the club."
Spinning mostly 80s for
over 2 years, the club also featured techno, hip-hop, and 70s nights.
Starr produced 2 CDs, Spring Breaks 2K4 and Burghbreaks Vol. 1 during
this time. To promote Burghbreaks, Starr brought national talent such
as Keith Mackenzie, Trixie and JBreak to Club Chemistry to perform at
the release party.
Starr got his start at a
young age, influenced by the hip-hop scene while performing for the
under 21 crowd. He was soon alongside Run DMC, Kid Capri, KRS-One, and
DJ Kool regularly performing to crowds of over 1200.
Large crowds are not
unusual for Starr. He's had the opportunity to work with and learn from
talent from Miami, Tampa and world class DJs including DJ Trauma, Icey,
DJ Razz, Richard "Humpty" Vision, Huda Hudia, and one of his personal
favorites, Sharaz (941 Electro), among many others.
"If I said I didn't miss
the Florida scene, that would be untrue. I learned so much, and made
great friends. Now is the time in Pittsburgh to feel the vibe and reach
for the Starrs." -
